One on my biggest mistakes was NEVER eating breakfast. I just did not have the time or the energy. I also thought I was saving myself the calories by not eating them, since I was never hungry in the morning any way. I was wrong! I have heard that people that never eat breakfast usually make up for it sometime during the day, AND THEN SOME in my case!!! By the time lunch came around I was a hungry girl ready to over eat… if I had not found a snack of some sweet treat and some coffee earlier in the day. You see skipping breakfast lowers your blood sugar, which brings on those cravings for high-carb, high-calorie-sugar foods. It is by far the best to get up and get that metabolism working for you with a healthy breakfast. The best thing you can do for you and your diet is to eat 4-5 small meals throughout the day to keep your blood sugar on an even keel. This will also keep you from getting ravenous and ready to devour anything in site!!! Eating will also speed up your metabolism…..yep you have to eat to lose weight!!!

Here are some of my favorite breakfasts::

Studies show that people who eat a healthy breakfast everyday are the most successful dieters. A nutritious breakfast causes your body to burn fat more efficiently and starts your day off perfectly.

Enjoy!! Have a great day!!!

  3. Lisa, Thank you for taking the time to blog these great ideas! You look so amazing and happy! You are helping so many people and are an amazing inspiration! I do have a question? When you talk about things such as, cream cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, do you always eat the “low fat” or “fat free” also, curious why always “almond milk”, and not regular milk. Thank you!

  4. Thank you for this info. I am trying to eat healthy and this really help me.

  5. We have a tree nut allergy in our house so I can’t do all of the almond items. Any suggestions?

  6. Hi Lisa,

I used to work at HHS until I retired in 2008. One of my best buddies there was/is Stacey, your Aunt. Anyway, just wanted to tell you I agree 100%. I never ate breakfast until I decided to get healthy. Now, it is one of the most important meals of the day. I have lost 65 pounds and plan on keeping it off. You are an inspiration. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your blog and look forward to your ideas on eating healthy. By the way, you are looking beautiful!!!!

    • Greetings from Florida! I’m bored to tears at work so I decided to check out your site on my iphone during lunch break. I really like the knowledge you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m shocked at how quick your blog loaded on my phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, good blog!

  7. I, too, am wondering about the Ezekiel bread–do you have a recipe to share? Or a source in Hudson/Stillwater?

And almond milk. So I’m thinking it’s so much better for me than cow’s milk, because all these healthy people I respect are raving about it and I look at the label and discover it’s got only 1 gram of protein! And more fat and more sugar than cow’s milk. What’s up with that? What’s so great about almond milk?

  8. Thank you so much for this site! I’m finding so many helpful tips and information. You are really an inspiration to those of us on this weight loss journey. God bless!

    • It’s perfect time to make a few plans for the future and it’s time to be happy. I’ve learn this publish and if I could I want to counsel you few fascinating issues or suggestions. Perhaps you could write next articles referring to this article. I want to learn more issues approximately it!

  9. I have to admit, when I saw “under 300 calories” I thought, “wow, that’s more than I allocate for breakfast!” But some of these look like great ideas. I LOVE Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin bread toasted with just 1/2 tbsp of low sugar peanut butter. It’s like desert for breakfast! Others who are asking, I don’t know if you have this store where you are, but in NC, Trader Joe’s has it. I have found it at other grocery stores (the more expensive ones), sometimes in the refrigerated section. Trader Joe’s has it the cheapest though around here. It’s fantastic!!

  10. Not sure if they still have it, but County Market in Hudson carries Ezekial bread, Cub also carries it and some of the Super Targets. It’s a frozen product so look in the frozen section, probably with the natural foods.

  11. Thus you can have two cookies, a small chocolate bar or a small ice cream cup sometimes.
The human body actually requires the proper amount of daily.
Avoid refined, processed foods as much as possible and include more natural, unrefined products in your diet.
